Notes on each one
- StoriesIG
- The oldest brand in this niche. Loads stories reliably when it is up, but the ad density is high and the modal interstitials get aggressive on mobile. Worth bookmarking as a backup, not a default.
- StoryInsta
- Cleaner UI than most. Slower than StoriesDown by 2 to 3 seconds per lookup on the same handle. Highlights download is reliable, Reels handling is hit or miss.
- InstaNavigation
- Asks for an email on the first save. The viewer itself works without one, but the friction is enough that most users bounce. If you only ever watch and never download, it is fine.
- GlassAGram
- Older codebase. Breaks roughly once a month when Instagram rotates an endpoint, and the fixes lag by days. Stays on this list because it is one of the few that handles older Stories Highlights cleanly when it is working.
Why StoriesDown anyway
